Jack Maddocks set for shock Super Rugby debut

CLICK HERE: Who is Jack Maddocks? Eastern Suburbs and Australian under 20s star Jack Maddocks could make his Super Rugby debut this weekend after being named on the Melbourne Rebels bench just two weeks after signing a deal with his new club. The 19-year old initially signed a two year deal with the Rebels, set to begin next year, but was called into the injury riddled squad last week and quickly impressed coach Tony McGahan. “Jack’s impressed us at training last week and really impressed with the Australian U20’s in Manchester, he’s a good physical player and gets an opportunity this weekend,” McGahan said. “He gets this opportunity because we think he can play, we certainly wouldn’t put him out there if there was any doubts about whether he can handle Super Rugby. We have faith in him that he can deliver.” Melbourne Rebels team to play Queensland Reds Toby Smith, James Hanson, Laurie Weeks, Luke Jones, Culum Retallick, Sean McMahon, Jordy Reid, Colby Fain
